A Walk In The Shoes Of A Sadist By Nahashon Harrison

KShs1,000.00

Randy Gatogo was born the most awaited bundle of joy by his parents. He grows up with an abnormal craving for blood spillage. There are the days he wanted to close his eyes and inhale the enticing smell of fresh blood. A jugular vein pulsating made him want to bay for blood.

As a boy, he enjoyed killing defenseless cats and dogs. His happiness depended on inflicting pain and suffering. Watching the animals writhe in pain gave him crazy contentment. The nature of a sadist drives him to commit atrocities in school. He was the mastermind of a strike in Kasuku primary school. He knew they would come looking for him so that he could stand behind his mess and suffer the repercussions of his actions. Apart from being a sadist, he was a notorious rebel.

He successfully escapes Kasuku village and seeks refuge in the Rift Valley capital. He turns to a notorious drug peddler for survival. Something tragic happens, and he loses his best friend in a gun battle in Nakuru town. Randy blames the whole ordeal and mostly its genesis on a woman. That is where the trait of misogynism in him originates. He resolves to pick a vendetta by running a deadly scheme of murdering prostitutes and any woman who crosses his path.

He perpetrates a series of murders in the past and swears to commit even more killings in the future to avenge his best friend. At some point, he is crazy enough to come to his mother’s rescue from the domestic violence subjected to her by his father. His father later dies in a mysterious circumstance.

  • In the deep valleys of River Mathioya lived a couple.Harrison and Jane were happily married.Life in the rural area was challenging but they were contented. In those days, westernization had not penetrated the interiors of Kenya yet. The couple’s livelihood depended on farming and fishing.

In 1987, their firstborn son was born. Later in 1989, the second and last born followed. The native’s source of livelihood was becoming unpopular. Harrison moved out to a little town and adopted shop-keeping as an alternative career. Jane was left behind to take care of their two sons.

Later in 1991, the unexpected happened. Harrison fell ill. Attempts by doctors to save his life proved futile and he passed on. Hepatocellular carcinoma took away his life. He was buried at the banana plantation behind their house. The widowed Jane was disappointed by the dramatic turn of events. She felt that the world was against her. She took their two sons and took them to her maternal home very far away from Mathioya. Later, she leaves her sons behind in the care of their grandmother. As the sole provider to her family, she dealt with cheap labor. As a mother, she ensured her sons schooled like everyone else’.The challenges were immense but worth it.From the deep valleys of Mathioya originates a story so breathtaking and captivating…as Nahashon Harrison vividly narrates.

  • “A world with no air” is a compelling story that revolves around the life of an African boy. It is a i journey of one man inside himself engulfed with an overwhelming quest for liberation. It is a clear picture of how an average African boy fights to survive in the underprivileged world. It reflects a journey through barricades and dangerous hiccups. It is a pure example of what it means to hit rock bottom.

“As I walked along the tiny road that runs from Kenya Clay Works to the other side of the road that connects O.J and Ruiru town, I tried to figure out what Gmail and email entails. I came up with a genius idea, may be email means when you send electronic mail, and Gmail means when someone sends a mail using a generator. I did not know. I looked at the piece of paper and ripped it into shreds”
