Moulded for service my 50-year journey of priesthood book by Archbishop Peter Kairo

Archbishop Emeritus Peter Kairo has had an illustrious career as a priest, having served as the first Bishop of Murang a, Bishop of Nakuru and Archbishop of Nyeri. He made history as the first African priest to be ordained in Nakuru Diocese and, over the next 50 years, he went on to serve the Catholic Church in various leadership roles. He also played an important role in the training of priests when he was the Spiritual Director, formator and lecturer in Catechesis and Pastoral Studies at St Thomas Aquinas Seminary in Nairobi. Besides his role in the Church, he also helped to shape political and national leadership in the country when he served in the Kenya Conference of Catholic Bishops and as vice-chairman of the Ufungamano Initiative, which was critical in driving legal and political reforms during Kenya’s darkest political era under the Kanu administration.
