Tom Mboya: Life, Death and the Disintegration of the Nascent Enterprise Project Kenya’ explores the significance of the implications of the death of one of Kenya’s constitutonal freedom fighters, who was also one of the foremost architects of modern Kenya.
Mboya viewed independence as a means of creating a modern, muti-racial, multi ethnic sovereign state, giving Kenyans a sense of nationhood, and of engendering prosperity, fighting ignorance, poverty and diseases, Project Kenya.
PROFESSOR BETHWELL A. OGOT is Emertus Professor of History at Masero Uriversity where he also founded the institute of Research and Postgraduate Sadies and held the UNESCO
Chair for Higher Education in Atrica. He was the first Deputy Vice-Chancelor of the Universiy of Nairobi from 1970-1973. He has taught at Makerere Uriversity, the University of Nairobl and at Kenyatta University. He was President of the
• international Scientilic Committee for the preparation of UNESCO’s Eight Volume General
History of Africa and a member of the Editorial Board of the international Commission for UNESCO’s History of Humanity. His latest works include Who, if Anyone Owns the Past?
