Description
Lydia never imagined she’d raise a child alone. Abandoned while just one month pregnant, she found herself navigating motherhood without a partner, a safety net, or even a place to fall apart. But what she lacked in support, she made up for in strength, for the sake of her daughter, Taraji.
Told in powerful, first-person prose, this deeply moving narrative follows Lydia’s quiet battles with bills, exhaustion, loneliness, and societal expectations and her unshakable love for her daughter.
“When no one else stayed” is a story of resilience, grace and the legacy of a woman who refused to give up. A tribute to single mothers everywhere; especially those no one claps for but keep going anyway.
